The name :
Gokce is a very difficult name to pronounce, and it deserves an introduction, as it makes a funny conversation topic. Gokce can be produced by reading "Gurkchey" as if it were a true English word.
The Person Behind the Name:
ART: I am a now-Bay Area-until-recently-San Diego based artist with a variety of interests. I have worked with many mediums including traditional photography (35 mm, medium and large formats), digital photography, video, digital art, installations. My recent interest is making mobile objects, and sound objects that are activated through a sensor. My conceptual interests revolve around the issues of identity, nomadic life style, communication, alienation and language.
TEACHING: I taught Art 101-Two Dimensional Design and Colour Theory,
and ART 240-Digital Media at San Diego State University. I also taught
English in Bilkent University in Turkey. I am thinking about working with children.
GRAPHIC DESIGN: My commercial works include digital and print graphic design projects, photography (wedding and portraits), video editing,
and multimedia animations. I had the opportunity to work with professionals from a variety of industries including bio-medical, MEMS, architecture firms, small businesses.
